Took a lotta ls since this moment. As my guy @justcity says Ls (lessons not losses) are essential. I have been blessed to do 40 more interviews since this one. Also been blessed to watch my sister Michelle go on a book tour for an amazing story about a man named Cyrus who goes through many trials and tribulations to become a great man. I love it because he always was a great man. He just had to believe it.
In this moment my community has lost one more brother who moved in purpose. We have gained yet another angel before we wished to. RIP Montaze Cooper. I am grateful for the example he set. He was also an author. I am in a space of reflection. Black men around me are facing heavy moments daily. I send love to you all and wish to remind you that we are warriors. That we are powerful beyond our own understanding at times. Never drop your head. When you see your brother slip prop him up and get him back to his feet. DC Young Fly said many very powerful statements on his breakfast club interview. The major takeaway from it for me was “IT IS BIGGER THAN ME”. The battle is the Lord’s. Don’t wear more than you have to Kings. Ideas not idols. The divine in me recognizes the divine in all. Love on someone today.
